Faithful

Being faithful in Gods will for your life.

I don’t think I have to go into much detail when I say this world we live in today is evil. It’s unsteady like waves in the ocean. It’s full of experts, gurus, and saviors. If we’re not careful, no, diligent, in our relationship with the Lord we’ll be tossed to and fro with the changing tides.

Finding Gods will for your life may seem to high a goal, too lofty to think about even achieving. It may seem like something impossible to find like a lost treasure. And when you’re already in a fret trying to cling to God like your life depends on it you end up stressed about being good enough, following the rules close enough, or afraid you might ruin Gods plans or will for your life.

What if knowing Gods will and being faithful in it wasn’t meant to be this thing that only the true scholars of the faith could attain or impossible to truly understand?

I don’t believe when the Bible mentions something as the will of God for your life, and yes, you can find in scripture some things that are the will of God in every believers life, that it was meant to send us over the edge in a frenzy of trying to BE anything except faithful to Gods word. (I won’t give you all of the places where scripture mentions His will because I think it’s important especially in these days that we personally know what we believe and why we believe it and those answers can be found in scripture if you search for yourself.) When Jesus left the Holy Spirit to live with us, to guide and teach us, to disciple us, to give us His fruit, He also gave us His strength. His strength to be diligent in our faith. To be able to discern the times. To be able to know His will for us as a whole and personally.

Daily faithfulness

I’m abundantly blessed to be able to add wife and mother to the resume of my life. I know that being a wife and mother is part of Gods will for my life since He has allowed this blessing to flow into it. So for me it’s important to be faithful in the discipling of my children, it’s important for me to be a present, loving wife to my husband, and it’s important for me to be in my home daily setting the tone as a stay-at-home mom.

We’re also a homeschooling family, which was a personal conviction from the Holy Spirit for our family. I struggle with daily consistency. Thankfully, I have the Holy Spirit to give me exactly what I need for the day to do the things I need to do in order to be faithful to Gods will for my life. So, daily lessons are important for us and important that I be obedient to God first and my family to educate my children well.

By being a part of a church body I know that it’s Gods will for my life to consistent in fellowship with them. Not only is it great for me but it’s great for my church as well. The bible tells us that in the relationship of believers their lives will sharpen one another (as iron sharpenth iron; so a man sharpenth the countenance of his friend. Pro. 27:17). How can this happen if we are not in fellowship with another but not just fellowship on a surface level but building deeper connections with people?

Search for yourself

I hope you’re encouraged this morning to get into Gods word to do a little study on Gods will for the Christian and that you’ll be in prayer that the Holy Spirit will show you what Gods personal will for your life is and how that looks on a daily level.
